Zippers Club’s ‘Zipper Club’ to be sold at the end of the year

Zippers’ Club has announced it is to be closed on 30 December, following the death of a member.
The club has sold the membership rights to members at an annual cost of €30,000, to a group of five companies who will be auctioning off the rights on behalf of the club.
It has sold to the group, the UK-based Zipper Club Group, which has not revealed its members’ details.
Zippers Club has a membership of 1,200,000.
Zipper club has a global membership of over 1,300,000 and its website has listings of clubs around the world.
Zippers Club is based in Bristol, England, and the club was established in 2006.
It was founded by the owner of a UK-registered company, the Zipper Group, who sold the rights in 2019.
In a statement, the club said the sale had been made to an “entrepreneurial group”, and that it had “a strong record of successful fundraising, and strong support from the local community”.
Zippers has been in existence since the mid-1980s, and has been active in many countries including Germany, the Netherlands and Austria.
In 2016, the company received the European Union’s prestigious Brand Innovation Award for “excellence in branding”.
Zipper has previously said that it is working on a new website, which it hopes to launch in 2018.
